Datsun Vehicle History Report
The Datsun brand was the brand name used by Nissan Motors from 1968 to 1991 for vehicles built in Japan using the Nissan Datsun platform, though for the first few years the name was usually used only for cars produced between 1968 and 1971. After the 1971 discontinuation of the Datsun badge, Nissan continued to build Datsun cars under a different brand name (the Nissan Fairlady) until their replacement by the Nissan Laurel brand in 1991. The Datsun was also rebadged as a Zastava model in Eastern Europe, although the first model with the 'Datsun' badge was the Datsun 620 in 1969. Datsun started to use the name in 1969, as a vehicle range to compete with the Suzuki Bluebird and Fiat Dino. In 1971 Nissan renamed the car Datsun, but kept the Bluebird's model range of the same name. Do not forget to use Datsun VIN decoder in order to avoid potential problems when buying a used car.
