Citroen Vehicle History Report
The Citroën car or Citroën automobile is the line of car produced by Citroën since 1911. From 1923 to 1926, Citroën cars were named after French rivers or seas; since 1927, the names have been taken from Greek mythology. The name Citroën is an acronym of Citre-Oi, meaning 'The Citrus', referring to the Citroën company, whose factory is located in the Citrus district, in Nanterre. In fact, during the construction of the factory, the founders decided on an original acronym of Citre-Oi that was then expanded to Citroën. Citroën had developed a successful vehicle, the car based on the commercial vehicle CPE, in 1913 and the first commercial vehicle, the Traction Avant of 1914, to be the first mass-produced automobile in Europe.
