Bentley Vehicle History Report
The Bentley Motors Company is the British automobile manufacturer owned by Volkswagen AG, which makes luxury cars and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) under the Bentley, Flying Spur, Mulsanne and Continental brands. It is based in Crewe, and was founded in Crewe by Edward Turner, a former Rolls-Royce employee, in 1916 as J.S. Bentayga Car Company, originally with the aim of making cars for other companies. After World War II, it continued to build light commercial vehicles until 1980, when it began manufacturing cars. In 1991, it was taken over by Volkswagen AG. The company was established in 1917 and is based in Crewe, England. Since 2015, the Bentley Continental GT, Continental Flying Spur, and Flying Spur GTC have been in production, with the Continental GT arriving in showrooms in 2018.
